"meteolabor ag"

Lumbricus soil-moisture measuring instrument.

calibration, using liquid nitrogen method

For compensation of the soil structure, the measuring point is calibrated. The water content of the measurement location is frozen with liquid nitrogen and a reference measurement is taken. The dielectric constant changes from about 78 (water) to 3.1 (ice)

The necessary calculations, developed and patented by Research Center Karlsruhe, are done on a pc by means of an easy-to-use program.

For calibration of the measurement place the tube is filled with liquid nitrogen "loading image..."
"loading image..." after about 1 hour, the soil around the tube is frozen, and the first reference measurement can be taken.

May 1999, Meteolabor reserves the right to make changes without further notice
